JJ001

From ITL Wiki

This is JJ Code JJ001.

I made this circuit to interface to a meter movement for 1L.4.1 Internal resistance of the movement and other work which might require interfacing a meter movement at low voltage. There are parallel diodes installed to limit the voltage that the meter movement sees to 0.6 volts, which is the forward voltage of the 1N4004 diodes I used. These particular diodes were recommended in LAoE2ed in a footnote on page 31. The point of the diodes is to protect the meter movement in the event of over voltage.

The meter is attached to the circuit by means of the internal black jumpers. Jumpers can be used to connect the green pins to the black pins, or the jumpers can be removed and replaced with resistors or ammeters (we do both things in our experiment). There is female pin header provided on the bottom which is electrically connected to the green and black male header up the top.
